Functions

The Home and Tribal Affairs Department carries out a wide array of functions essential for the governance and security of Balochistan. These include:

  1. Maintenance of Public Order
    • Collaborating with local law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and security.
    • Developing and implementing crime prevention strategies.
    • Supporting the coordination and management of law enforcement agencies like police, Levies, and other security forces.
  2. Tribal Affairs
    • Mediating and resolving tribal conflicts through dialogue and legal frameworks.
    • Engaging tribal leaders and communities to promote harmony and prevent disputes.
    • Facilitating integration programs that promote tribal development and cultural preservation.
  3. Public Safety
    • Ensuring the safety of citizens through public awareness campaigns on crime prevention, emergency preparedness, and safety measures.
    • Developing policies to manage law enforcement and safety regulations across the province.
  4. Disaster Management
    • Working with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to coordinate disaster preparedness and response efforts.
    • Conducting awareness campaigns and disaster drills in disaster-prone areas.
    • Providing assistance in times of natural calamities, including coordination of relief efforts.
  5. Liaison with Federal and Provincial Authorities
    • Coordinating with the federal and provincial governments on matters related to internal security, border control, and national policies.
    • Participating in national efforts for counter-terrorism and intelligence sharing.
  6. Policy and Legal Framework Development
    • Drafting and implementing policies related to public order, law enforcement, and tribal relations.
